SoTre rescues another home, 3276 is a 1910 period Colonial Revival. It was left for nothing by the former owner and put on the market as a foreclosure by the bank. The
inside features very simple yet substantial moldings, window seats and original floors. The exterior has a very unique front gable with fish scale shingles and roman arched windows. A small dormer on the south side of the home features a unique French window design. The grounds feature mature trees, Rose of Sharon and a 1 car garage. The renovation will modernize the home mechanically and preserving the historical character of the home. Check out or progress.
Urban Defense Project
SoTre is providing summer housing for the Urban Defense Project (UDP) a new project aimed at offering internships to collaged aged students who are interested in urban planning, gardening and sustainability. In
its pilot phase, UDP is working with governmental and community based organization around policy issues, weatherization and garden installations. UDP helped the South Tremont block club of Metro North with the installation of their community garden. Watch the progress of this garden right here.
Making a Difference
What sets SoTre apart from other development/management firms is that we live and work in the target neighborhood and work closely with community groups to add additional amenities to the neighborhood.
Rebuilding Our Community
In addition to the homes that SoTre restores and brings into the housing market, we are committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of South Tremont. With collaboration from the local block club, Neighborhood Progress Inc, MetroHealth, Councilman Brian Cummins and Community Leader Sandy Smith, we have embarked on the development of a neighborhood community garden where as neighbors we can grow our own food. Ground breaking is expected in the spring of 2010. Feel free to check out our progress here or stop by the garden for a hands on look.
Below shows the garden plans. Watch the progress of this garden right here.
